Sayville Village’s annual summer family fair on Main Street. Free admission, carnival rides + family-music stage + food trucks + free face-painting. The first weekend of August, all-day Saturday. The South Shore family Saturday at its peak.
Why it’s the family Saturday:
- Free admission — only the rides cost ($20 wristband for unlimited)
- Carnival rides for kids 3-12 (kid-scale; not Adventureland-sized)
- Food trucks + family-friendly beer garden in a separate zone
- Free face-painting + crafts stations
- Sayville-style scale — village fair, not regional festival; manageable crowds
- Fire-truck climb-on is the year-after-year kid favorite
- LIRR Sayville is a 6-minute walk to Main Street
Best plan:
- 11 AM — arrive at opening
- 11:30 AM - 1 PM — lunch from food trucks + 2-3 rides
- 1 PM - 2 PM — face-painting + crafts station
- Leave by 2 PM before the heat peaks + crowds build
Sayville also runs a separate spring classic-car show (Memorial Weekend) + holiday tree lighting (December). The village’s family-event calendar is one of the strongest on the South Shore.
