Garden City
Garden City is Nassau's planned-community jewel — designed in the 1870s as one of America's first planned suburbs, still gorgeous, walkable, and home to Roosevelt Field + the Long Island Children's Museum. The Cathedral of the Incarnation is the architectural landmark.

Garden City is one of America’s first planned suburbs (Alexander Turney Stewart, 1870s) and has retained the bones — tree-lined streets, gorgeous Tudor + Victorian housing stock, a real downtown with shopping. The museums on the south end (LICM + Cradle of Aviation) are the family draw.
